Requirements for Applying for Foundation & Intermediate May 2025 Exams
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the eligibility requirements and application guidelines for candidates appearing in the May 2025 CA Examinations.
Candidates must ensure that their details on the Self Service Portal (SSP) are updated before submitting their exam forms.
1. ICAI May 2025 Exam Registration – Key Requirements
1.1 Steps to Verify Before Filling the Exam Form
Valid Login Credentials: Candidates must have an active login on SSP Portal. If not, they must create one.
Valid Course Registration: Candidates with a lapsed course registration must convert to the new course via SSP before applying.
Course Code Conversion (If Required):
- Intermediate Course Codes: NEWINT23 or CONINT23
- Foundation Course Codes: NEWFND23 or CONFND23
No fee is required for course conversion.
Updated Photograph & Signature: Candidates must upload a clear photo and signature as per ICAI’s guidelines.
Registered for the Correct Groups: Candidates appearing for Intermediate exams should verify their registered group(s) on SSP.
1.2 How to Update Course Details?
- Login to SSP ? Go to Student Functions
- Select Student Module ? Course Registration
- Click Apply for Conversion ? Convert to the new course
2. ICAI May 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria
2.1 CA Foundation Eligibility
Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
- Registered in the Foundation Course on or before 1st January 2025.
- CPT to Foundation Conversion completed (if applicable).
- Class 12th Qualification Proof:
- Option 1: Appeared in Class 12 Board Exams (Admit Card uploaded on SSP).
- Option 2: Passed Class 12 (Marksheet uploaded on SSP).
2.2 CA Intermediate Eligibility
To appear for CA Intermediate May 2025, candidates must meet the 8-month study period requirement.
- Registered on or before 1st September 2024 to be eligible for the May 2025 attempt.
3. ICAI Photo & Signature Upload Guidelines
3.1 Photo Requirements
- Face Visibility: At least 80% of the face (without a mask) must be visible, including ears.
- Background: White background with clear contrast.
- Glasses: Allowed, but no goggles, caps, or headgear (except religious headwear).
- File Format: JPG/JPEG
- File Size: 20-50 KB
- Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
Important: No selfies or low-quality images allowed.
3.2 Signature Requirements
- Ink Color: Black pen on a white sheet.
- File Format: JPG/JPEG
- File Size: 10-20 KB
- Dimensions: 6 cm x 2 cm
Tip: Ensure the scanned image is well-cropped, without extra white spaces.
