Does it feel as if something is missing from your life? If you?re like most people, you answered yes. Our lives are rarely ever perfect, but that doesn?t mean that they can?t be magical or even enjoyable.
Perhaps you feel like your life would be better if you were in a good relationship, or if you had more friends. Maybe you?re tired of living paycheck to paycheck and wish that you had more money. Whatever your situation is, whatever you feel is lacking, can be changed.
Thousands of people have learned the secrets to manifesting what they want and their lives are glorious. Many of these people will have stories of gut wrenching pain and suffering. They?ll tell you how they were addicted to drugs, or how they were homeless. They?ll tell you that they grew up in poverty or had some type of disorder that prevented them from leading a normal life.
Yet somewhere along the way, they found the strength to stand up to the limitations that had been placed upon them by themselves and society. They decided that they weren?t going to settle for less than anybody else. In fact, they were going to achieve more than anyone thought was possible.
And they did it.
I am one of those people. I came from a dysfunctional household and wasn?t given the opportunity to have a good education. Despite that, I was able to get a good job and went on to purchase my own home at the ripe old age of 23. However, a few years later I would lose my job, my friends, and my home would end up in foreclosure. I struggled through one of the worst depressions I had ever experienced in my adult life.
And while I was sad to experience so many losses, there was a light inside of me that told me that this wasn?t the end. This was the beginning. This was the start of an incredible journey, and before I could pack my bags and travel along this new path, I first had to shut the doors to the old one.
See, I was living a life of silent desperation. When I had the job, the house, the cats, the friends and everything I could have wanted, I was still sad inside. Something wasn?t right. And I realize now that I was trying to neglect my soul?s purpose and fill it with material things. I wanted to be happy with the things society told me I should be happy with, instead of listening to my own wise soul.
If this sounds like you, then I want to encourage you to listen to the wisdom of your own soul. Don?t give up yourself or on your dreams and don?t give in to what society wants you to be. Walk the path that was designed for you from the moment of your birth.
The following is a list of manifestation techniques that have helped me to re-create my life from the inside out. Some may resignate with you while others do not. That?s okay. In fact, it?s perfect. Each one of us is different, and so what works well and feels right for one person may not be the same for the other.
Affirmations ? Affirmations are positive statements that are written in present tense. For example, if you wanted more money, your affirmation wouldn?t be ?I want more money.? It would be ?More money is coming my way today and everyday.?
Affirmations need to be repeated and repeated often in order to make a positive impact on your life. Saying them once or twice a day isn?t going to be enough to bring about what you?re trying to manifest. Start with manifestations that seem believable to you and move on from there.
Write it down ? Many psychologists and life coaches advise their clients to write in a daily journal so that they can reflect on their thoughts and actions. This journal allows you to see where you need to make changes in order to fix your habits and behavior. However, when manifesting, we don?t want you to write down your life as it currently is. We want you to write out your life in the way you want it to be.
Do you want a big house with a pool in the backyard? Great! Write about it in detail but write about it in the present tense. How many rooms does it have? How many acres of land is it on? How big is the actual house? What does your kitchen look like? Describe your pool and describe absolutely every little detail that you can see in your mind. Allow your mind to pain the perfect picture of what you wish for and write it down.
Do you want to be in a loving relationshp? Great ? write it down! Need a new group of friends? Awesome. Tell us about the adventures you have with them.
Whatever it is that you want in this life, write it down! This exercise is fun (especially if you love to write) and helps to get those positive, creative juices flowing.
Imagine it ? Imagination is something that comes to us naturally when we?re kids but when we grow up, we don?t use this creative muscle as much. As adults, we?re taught to become more analytical and less creative so that we can do our jobs with the mindless repetitiveness of a robot. (No wonder we feel like something is missing from our lives!)
When you look at the great minds of our times: Steve Jobs, Steven Spielberg, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and many more, we can see that they all have two things in common. The first is imagination. The second is drive. But without their imagination, there wouldn?t be a drive!
So give yourself permission to engage your imagination again, just like you did when you were a child. What type of things did you imagine yourself doing before adults came into your world and told you you couldn?t do them? Did you fly like Superman? Did you ride the space shuttle and land on Mars? Did you imagine yourself as a brave viking, commanding a ship and discovering new lands?
As an adult, you may not have the same desires you had as a kid, so what you imagine may be different, and that?s okay! Imagine that you have whatever it is you want RIGHT NOW. How does that make you feel? Pretty good, huh?
Act it out ??This is pretty similar to using your imagination to see what you want, only in this case, you?re acting it out. Or maybe you?re actually doing it.
Let?s say that your dream is to win a Tony award. Don?t just picture yourself on stage accepting the award?.act it out! Give your acceptance speech. Smile at the camera. Imagine that your friends and family and celebrities are looking up at you, beaming with joy as you graciously and nervously accept this award.
Vision Board ? I like to refer to vision boards as visual affirmations. These are fun to make and you might even find yourself making more than one. A vision board is a board in which you place pictures of all of the things you desire in life. These could range from material things, such as a fun car or dream home, to more intimate things like a good relationship with a loving partner. Whatever is on your heart should be on your board.
Once your board is complete, spend time looking at it as if they are snapshots of things that have already happened. That ferrari on the board?it?s already yours. That loving relationship with the couple holding hands in the park?.that?s something you have now. Get into a place where you feel as if you already own these things and notice the sensation that it brings to your heart.
Now, you?re probably wondering?..
How will these exercises help me to manifest my heart?s desires?
Good question. These exercises are only tools to help put you in the right state of mind so that you are ready to receive these things when they come to you. They also help you to put the right energy out into the universe so that the universe knows what to give you.
Too many of us waste our lives in fear or doubt. We worry about paying the bills on time or sending our kids to the right school. And since we worry about these things, that is what the Universe brings to us.
You see, fear is a type of faith, but it?s faith in the wrong things. What we need to do is to change your thinking so that you can have faith in the right things.
One of my favorite quotes is from Albert Einstien, (whom, I might add, also used his imagination to create the well known equation of E=mc2) who said ?We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.?
Did you get that? Even the father of modern physics new that you needed to change your thoughts in order to get different results. And that?s what these exercises do. They help to change your thoughts and in doing so, open your mind to create ideas that will fix your problems. Not add to them.
You may find that some of these exercises will be fun for a while but then they will lose their glamor. When that happens, simply move on to a different exercise on the list, or create your own.
Have you used any of these practices to re-create your life and bring about what you want? If so, leave us a comment. We?d love to hear from you.
