Requirements for Applying for CA Final May 2025 Exams
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released the eligibility requirements and registration guidelines for candidates appearing in the May 2025 CA Final Examination.
Candidates must verify their details on the Self-Service Portal (SSP) and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before filling out the exam form.
1. ICAI May 2025 Final Exam Registration – Key Requirements
1.1 Steps to Verify Before Filling the Exam Form
- Valid SSP Login: Candidates must have an active login on SSP Portal.
- Course Registration: Candidates with expired course registrations must convert to the Final New Course before applying.
- Course Code Conversion:
- Final Course Codes: NEWFIN23 or CONFIN23
- Updated Photograph & Signature: Candidates must upload a clear photo and signature that meet ICAI’s guidelines.
- Articleship Completion Status: Candidates should ensure that their articleship training status is updated to “Registered” on SSP.
1.2 How to Update Course Details?
- Login to SSP ? Go to Student Functions
- Select Student Module ? Course Registration
- Click Apply for Conversion ? Convert to the new course
2. ICAI May 2025 Final Exam Eligibility Criteria
2.1 Final Course Eligibility
Candidates must have completed or be in the final stage of their articleship training as per the following conditions:
- Completed 3 or 3.5 years of training as of the date of filling the exam application form, or
- Due to complete 3 or 3.5 years of training (including excess leave) on or before April 30, 2025, or
- In service as of May 1, 2025, serving the last 12 months of training and due to complete 3 years on or before April 30, 2026 (for PE-II stream students), or
- In service as of May 1, 2025, serving the last 6 months of training and due to complete 3.5 years on or before October 31, 2025 (for PCC stream students).
Candidates who have taken termination during articleship must re-register for the balance training period to meet these eligibility criteria.
2.2 Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS)
Candidates under the New Scheme of Education and Training (effective July 1, 2023) must complete the AICITSS course before appearing in the May 2025 Final Exam.
- AICITSS Completion Deadline: April 10, 2025
- Candidates must pass the Advanced ICITSS-IT Test before applying.
- Those who have completed either GMCS-II or Advanced ITT under the old Final Course need to complete only the remaining component.
Candidates can check the AICITSS IT Test schedule on the ICAI Exam Portal.
3. ICAI Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM) Requirements
The ICAI Exam Department has launched the Self-Paced Module Test (SPMT) Portal for candidates who have completed required learning hours for the Self-Paced Online Module (SPOM).
- Candidates admitted to CA Final till November 2023 must complete Set A & Set B before applying for membership.
- Candidates admitted to CA Final from May 2024 onwards must qualify for Set A, B, C & D before appearing in the Final Exams.
- Final Exam Candidates for May 2025 must complete SPOM before April 10, 2025.

4. ICAI Photo & Signature Upload Guidelines
4.1 Photo Requirements
- The photo must be colored or black & white, showing 80% of the face, including ears, against a white background.
- No caps, goggles, or face masks (except religious headwear that does not cover the face).
- File Format: JPG/JPEG
- File Size: 20-50 KB
- Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm
4.2 Signature Requirements
- Signature must be done on a white sheet using a black pen.
- File Format: JPG/JPEG
- File Size: 10-20 KB
- Dimensions: 6 cm x 2 cm
